WORST MET GALA LOOKS
WORST MET GALA LOOKS
Welcome Yappy Hour Comrades to the biggest night in Fashion, and ultimately Noushka and I’s most sacred SHARED day of the year - I say shared because to Noushka that day is reserved for the premiere of Wicked part 2. (Noushka here, editing, and can confirm this is true.) But alas, I digress.
For the lovers of fashion, the everyday fashion police, and the biggest haters, the Met Gala is the event of the year. A night where all opinions are welcome, though ours should be deemed most correct. Despite Noushka and I’s everyday apparel, we do indeed possess a sense of style. Yes you can scoff and feign contempt but that will only empower us with our sense of righteousness. So you can take your opinions and shove it where the light doesn’t shine, and after doing so - take your shoes off, relax and prepare to read what is right.
Though to understand these takes, you need to first understand the theme. To help you do that, I have asked my trusted friend Chat (please no I take no honor in doing so, I am wholeheartedly against AI, though I feel too lazy to summarize Vogue’s article for you): “The 2025 Met Gala theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," celebrates the history and artistry of Black dandyism—a fashion movement where elegance is used as self-expression, resistance, and pride. Rooted in eras like the Harlem Renaissance, it highlights how Black individuals have historically reinterpreted European tailoring to assert identity and challenge social norms. The dress code, “Tailored for You,” invites guests to honour this legacy through personalised, bold, and stylish interpretations of dandy fashion” (Gaskins, Vogue). And with the super stylish chairs of the Met Gala this year, you would assume that it would be a fairly easy theme to get right? RIGHT? WRONG! In this list we will be compiling for you everyone who should have just stayed home, or given their tickets to Noushka and I.
Pharrell Williams in Louis Vuitton
Go Girl, give us NOTHING. As the chair and creative director of Louis Vuitton men, Pharrell had so much material to pull from. So many directions to go in, and yet he went in the worst direction of all: simple. I could argue that he has worn better and cooler looks on a stroll through the streets of Paris and New York than here; the hottest night of fashion. Shameful indeed.
Anna Wintour in Louis Vuitton
She is so good at looking so bad at her own show. However, this time she had an accomplice, and it seems that he is at more than one scene of the crime on this carpet. Pharell Williams strikes again and gives us ANOTHER boring look. Though I should say that this is always the case with Anna I fear.
La La Anthony in archival Off-White
The fashion world lost a true great when Virgil Abloh died, this monstrosity however taints his legacy. Truly Truly bad, and I take no pleasure in saying so.
Heidi Klum in Vetements
This is Heidi's first return to the Met Ball after a 12 year hiatus. This dress makes me wish she was gone for more years. “My eyes are starved for beauty” - Andre Leon Talley
Sydney Sweeney in Miu Miu
Sydney was paying homage to the 1950’s silver screen WHITE star, Kim Novak. It's so not on theme that it borders on disrespectful.
Tory Burch in Tory Burch
Why?
James Corden and Julia Carey
I would include the designers names but I don't want to do them like that. They probably have mouths to feed
Joe Burrow (don't know the designer and frankly can not seem to care)
My brother was better dressed at his 6th grade middle school dance.
Simone Biles in Harbison Studio
We were rooting for you, we were all rooting for you.
Maya Hawke in Prada
Her stylist probably hates her, she probably hates herself and Anna Wintour is for SURE a hater for even approving this look. I wasted words writing this sentence.
Lisa in Louis Vuitton
People are saying Rosa Parks is embroidered on the lace of her underwear. I shall leave you with that.
Anne Hathaway in Carolina Herrera
The queen of Genovia, you did not serve with this one.
Louis Partridge
It's giving Chuck Bass on a bad day.
Demi Moore in Thom Browne
Everyone is raving about this look. The dress takes the shape of a necktie and though the idea is definitely great, the execution falls flat. It didn’t do it for me but it seems I am alone in these thoughts.
Megan Thee Stallion in Michael Kors
Her boobs are gonna pop out, there's nothing perfectly tailored about this dress I fear.
Sabrina Carpenter in Louis Vuitton
A mess for the Gala, beyond great for a dance number on stage.
Hailey Bieber in YSL
Everyone involved in this look are on the #ihateHaileyBieber side of TikTok because there is no other explanation for putting someone you actually like on the Met Gala Red Carpet in such a look.
Amelia Gray in Valentino
I hope this is just a fever dream. No, fever NIGHTMARE.
Kendall Jenner in Torishéju
Boring
Doechii in Louis Vuitton
Such a dramatic attempt at concealing the look before the carpet for such a mid turn out.
Halle Berry in LaQuan Smith
My eyes did not give consent to seeing such a horrible outfit. Truly abysmal.
Stay tuned for our best dressed picks!
